Shade Sickle

The Shade Sickle is a Daedric artifact created by Bretons. The blade of the sickle had unique ability to separate the living from their shadows. Those struck by the blade were slowly and gradually stripped of the ability to think consciously, and turned into hapless beings akin to thralls. It was associated with Daedric Prince Nocturnal and was a powerful instrument of her will. Despite its common appearance, the blade was preternaturally sharp and filled those who gaze at is with a deep sense of foreboding.

HistoryEdit

At some point before 2E 582, Breton artificers crafted the Shade Sickle. Eventually, they realized the power of the blade. They attempted to hide it and offered it at the Shrine of Nocturnal under the guise of a gift.

Circa 2E 582 the artifact was stolen by two thieves, Darene Gavendier and Giovanni Corvus. They were hired by a powerful necromancer Tumma-Maxath who coveted the power of the Shade Sickle. He needed the artifact to complete his ritual in his lair in Bloodrun Cave. Nocturnal requested the Vestige to retrieve the sickle to her shrine. They ventured to Bloodrun Cave in northeastern Blackwood and took the artifact from the altar in the necromancer's lair. The Vestige returned the artifact to the shrine of Nocturnal. Her follower, Millona Brolus, intended to hide the artifact in a more secure place than the shrine. According to Nocturnal's faithful, the artifact should never be used in necromantic rituals.
