Kastav was the second emperor of the Reman Dynasty. Details of his life and reign are scarce, other than some branding him as an incompetent ruler. One example was when in 1E 2801 he ordered the Dragonguard of Sky Haven Temple to seize Nordic hostages in order to meet conscription quotas. He then cut off supplies to the temple when they refused to help suppress the resulting Winterhold Rebellion. His poor handling of this and other issues led to his deposition in 1E 2805 or 2806, and he was succeeded by Reman II.
He lived for several years in exile alongside his honor guard, dying in the Murkmire region of Black Marsh in 1E 2812. By the Fourth Era, a military fort in the Winterhold region of Skyrim bore his name.
